Behind Lia™ EyeCare is a team of people united by our mission.
We want to improve the quality of life for people living with dry and sore eyes.

Our backgrounds span engineering, medicine, business, and research, but what brings us together is a shared purpose. We’ve seen the challenges people face every day and have combined our skills to create solutions that truly make a difference.

At Lia™ EyeCare, we’re not just building a wearable device. We’re building comfort, confidence, and a better quality of life for those living with dry and sore eyes.

Breda O’Regan, Co-Founder & CEO

Breda brings over 20 years of leadership experience to Lia™ EyeCare, defined by her drive to put that expertise to meaningful use. She has guided multinational teams and shaped global partnerships at Johnson & Johnson, Apple, AbbVie, and KPMG, turning strategy into real impact. A Chartered Accountant with a Commerce degree from UCC, Breda combines sharp financial insight with a clear sense of purpose: building a company that not only innovates in eye care but also transforms people’s lives.

Sinéad Buckley, Co-Founder & COO

Sinéad is a Process Engineer and a Pharmacist whose career spans from designing and commissioning pharmaceutical equipment to caring for patients in community pharmacies. This balance of science and human need defines her role at Lia™ EyeCare. An alumna of the BioInnovate Ireland Programme (affiliated with Stanford University), she has a passion for turning big ideas into real solutions. At Lia™ EyeCare, Sinéad combines technical expertise with a patient-first perspective to ensure every innovation delivers genuine comfort and care.

Dr Olivia Leslie
R&D Program Lead

Olivia Leslie, PhD, is an R&D Specialist at Lia™ EyeCare. She holds a PhD and MEng in Biomedical Engineering. She works on the technical development of our products through her research expertise, as well as electronics design, calibration and control systems, and rapid prototyping.

Dr. Eoin O’Cearbhaill
Academic Co-Founder

Eoin is an Associate Professor in Biomedical Engineering at UCD, where he leads the Medical Device Design Group he founded in 2013. With a career spanning Ireland, the US, and collaborations at Harvard Medical School, his work has always focused on turning bold ideas into practical medical technologies.

From award-winning innovations such as a safety-focused “clutch needle” to bio-inspired devices, Eoin has built a reputation for combining creativity with rigour. Beyond his academic achievements, his passion lies in designing medical devices that improve patient safety, comfort, and care.

At Lia™ EyeCare, Eoin brings deep expertise in device design and innovation, helping ensure that every product is not only scientifically advanced but also truly meaningful for patients.
